Support the Society
A donation goes into the same place as everything else we raise: the exhibitions, the education programmes, the buildings and the fair.
What a donation pays for
Carp Agricultural Society is a registered Canadian charity and not-for-profit organisation, founded in 1863 and run by volunteers. We are not funded by a levy or a membership subscription — the fair pays for itself, or it does not happen.
That means admission, bingo, the licensed 50/50 draw, sponsorship and donations between them cover judging, prize money, insurance, equipment, and the upkeep of the grounds and buildings that the village uses all year.
Where donations go
- Exhibitor prize money and trophies across the four departments
- The junior department and school and 4-H programmes
- Maintenance of the Carp Fairgrounds buildings and rings
- Equipment and safety costs for running the fair

- Online — through our external donation provider, by card.
- By post — cheque payable to Carp Agricultural Society, Box 188, Carp, ON K0A 1L0.
- In person — at the office, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m..
- Sponsorship — sponsor a class, a trophy or an event (get in touch).
Donations are processed by an external payment provider under their terms. This site does not operate a checkout and does not receive, transmit or store card details.
Tax receipts
Carp Agricultural Society is a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency, business and charity number 118839505RR0001. Eligible donations are receipted in accordance with CRA rules for registered charities.
A ticket for the 50/50 draw is not a donation and is not receiptable — it is the purchase of a chance in a licensed raffle. If you want a tax receipt, make a donation rather than buying raffle tickets.
Other ways to help
- Volunteer during the fair or through the year — see Get involved.
- Enter a class. Exhibitors are what a fair actually is.
- Come to Drive-In Bingo through the season.
- Buy a 50/50 ticket — half of every dollar stays with the Society.
